In Loving Memory of Madam Lim Gim Eann

Dear all, I have to cut short my CNY holidays in Kuching and flew back to Penang today. My grandmother, Mdm Lim Gim Eann passed away yesterday morning (3rd day of CNY). The funeral will be on Sunday.

The last few years had been wonderful for me as I had the chance to get closer and spent time with her. Among all her grandchildren, she can only remember my name because I trained her to say my name every time I went back to Penang (main tipu sikit) ... but maybe also because I never fail to give her ang pow ( and she will asked "ku lui" = how much). When we ( me and my cousins) were younger we always teased her ... amma bo gey ... (grandma no teeth). Then she will took out her gigi palsu to scare us ... hehehe

Though she was very strict will all her grandchildren, everytime each one of us left her home after the school holidays were over she was always the saddest ... can feel from the hugs (... alamak nak menangis pulak). Nevertheless she will always be remembered as a loving grandma, love money and gold (hehehe) ... but most generous with her ang pow ...

May her soul rest in peace... love you grandma.

Xin Nian Lai Lor Part 3

continuation

yEa ... yea... since tomorrow not working so can update blog lah ... BTW its raining cats and dogs here in Kuching. However, despite the bad weather we were not short of visitors this first day ... but if compared to last year, at least this year I was able to catch a few winks during my OFF DUTY time.

MY FAMILY & GUESTS

This is the Indian side of the family ... the girl in blue is my foster dad's niece studying in UNIMAS.

This is the Bidayuh side of the family. The specky lady in green is my godsister Florence (my godfather's daughter)

This is the Muslim side of the family. My uncle-the one with more face - converted since he was a small child together with his other siblings. They used to open food stall in 7th Mile.

Michelle (Flo's), Florence, Marco (Flo's), Joan, Gina and Jayne. Flo's son and daughter often become my models coz they are very photogenic.

The girl in red T-shirt is my future sister-in-law. Haa... time nie I interview her kaw-kaw.

Justin (Linda's), Lowen (Linda's), twins ... Andin and Andun (Linda's), Yuyu (Josephine's).

My nephews and nieces queuing up for their ang pow.

Haa... kena cium and sayang auntie Mie. Else next year no ang pow.

Yuyu was our previous baby of the family. My mum and myself took care of him since birth until age 3 (his mum suffered from mild post natal depression), before I flew to work in KL. How time flies and now my baby tua is 9 years old...

With my uncle Harry's (in blue shirt) family whom we fondly called YB Taib Mahmud.

My mum giving ang pows to all her grandchildren...

This is how we clean a baby. Just soak in soap water.

Xin Nian Lai Lor Part 2

Happy "Niu" Year of the Ox everyone ... May this New year bring you abundance of wealth and health (or new L.O.V.E) to everyone .... to Meli D'Bonn, thank you for the new year's wish and perhaps it's time for you to shake your BON BON too... kau pun sampai bila nak menjanda akak ooooiiii ...

This year, we celebrated the new year in Kuching without my dad as my grandma is very ill. He had to cancel his flight 2 days ago to be with her. I went back to Penang last week to visit her and I think she may have few weeks left. We just hope she will hold on until after new year coz in the Chinese Calender, my dad was born on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. But thinking about it, if she didn't make through tomorrow, fate has a way of making people remember her on the calender. The other reason is she was born on Christmas Day.

Despite that, we still carry on with our CNY plans without the "original" Chinese patriach. Every few hours we will call Penang for latest updates. So far, her condition is stable.

THE PREPARATION

Bought this special tanglung in Petaling Street for my KL apartment.

Layan Blues Kejap ...

Aku sebenarnya masih kat ofis ... bukan nak tunjuk rajin keje OK tapi terpaksa balik lambat sebab tunggu my KP balik post-cab meeting for our own JPN meeting. I kena ganti pulak boss I yang tengah dirawat di HKL for his gout. Kalau tak lama dah aku melepaskan diri ke Petaling Street shopping tanglung ... This time kena hias rumah pulak for CNY...

Balik meeting rasa terpanggil pulak nak share pengalaman hari ini.

Earlier this morning ...

I menerima panggilan kecemasan daripada colleague I telling me that our other colleague and sorang boss may kena surcharge sebab tidak teliti dalam membenarkan pengeluaran daripada akaun HDA sehingga mendapat perhatian KSN. So she asked my assistance to help them sebab KSU nak report tu segera hari nie.

However, yang tersiratnya these 2 colleagues sebenar mempunyai konflik dalaman yang asasnya adalah niat yang murni untuk saling membantu tetapi disalahertikan. In which, A yang hendak membantu B yang menghadapi masalah nie tetapi B yang menghadapi masalah nie takut yang A beranggapan dirinya not good enough and selalu membelakangkan B bila nak buat kerja but hakikatnya A rasa bertanggungjawab atas tugas tersebut memandangkan dia diberi tanggungjawab tu terlebih dahulu. Of course masing-masing ada ceritanya sendiri tapi panjang sangat nak citer kat sini ...

And I sebagai senior officer pulak berpandangan kedua-dua terlalu dahagakan bimbingan, tunjuk ajar and eager to learn that bila yang sorang sibuk diberi tanggungjawab dan dilatih, yang sorang rasa terabai sebab tidak dilibatkan... huhuhu.

Zaliiiiiii, Seminnn., Ramliii ........ u all tau betapa aku dambakan saat-saat nie ... pegawai-pegawai junior yang terlalu ingin belajar .... Aku mendengar jer keluhan mereka tapi dalam hati aku sebenarnya tersenyum ... masih wujud lagi insan-insan yang sedih bila takde keje atau tak diberi tanggungjawab. Ingatkan tinggal jenis yang minit-minit keje dan kaki komplen jer .. oppsss sangat (pinjam ayat feymes Ramli).

Then masa meeting dengan KP ...

Masalah kat my department nie kan sebenarnya bagi I lah hala tuju, perkara dasar dan core functions certain bahagian is not clearly define, set and understood. So when a lot of issues can't be solved, ramai lah jadi tai-chee masters - sorang kata kerja nie patut sorang nie buat ... Sedangkan bila I kaji isu tersebut, it has to be tackled together by 3 bahagian dalam JPN secara bersepadu bersama dengan satu kementerian lain melalui satu mekanisme. Hmm... paling tak sedap didengar selamba jer one senior kata nie patut kerja enforcement.

I pun cakap kat senior nie, agreed that penguatkuasaannya adalah melalui satu Akta yang sama dipakai oleh 4 bahagian dalam JPN but apabila "burden to proof" bahagian penguatkuasaan that an offence has been done we will still have to pastikan prosedur bahagian pelesenan dan prosedur bahagian pemantauan projek in line dengan maksud Akta. Terus one super senior menyokong aku dan another super senior lain. Lepas meeting super2 senior nie jumpa aku bagi komen ... that officer tak habis-habis nak tai-chee kerja kat orang. Huhuhu ... and here I am wondering why ada sesetengah senior PTD kata batch junior yang naik M48 tak leh buat kerja ...

Actually I am sick of people of looking at age factor or the fact that certain batch naik cepat but not at his/her credentials or credibilities ... kan?

On the way nak balik ...

I terima panggilan daripada bakal Intan Jutawan CNI ajak I jumpa kat rumah I sebab nak bincang strategy perniagaan. Dalam hati cepatnya akak nie bertindak, baru jer tgh hari tadi husband dia call tanya bila free nak buat perbincangan. Tapi itu lah sebabnya dia jadi INTAN Jutawan sedangkan I nie setakat pernah berkursus jer kat INTAN Bukit Kiara.... hahahaa ... Anyway, to some maybe tindakan akak nie annoying tapi kalau diperhalusi, she has proven that dia mempunyai keazaman untuk mengubah kehidupan dia and membantu orang lain sama-sama mengubah kehidupan mereka (and of course kongsi kekayaan orang tu jugak .. MLM kan). And some people doing nothing ... condemn fate, blame karma or worse condemning orang yang try to make a change ... Nak berjaya u have to give 200%.

By the way ... akak nie dulu kerani jer kat Forestry ... Dalam aku buat insurans dan CNI ramai lah aku jumpa orang-orang macam nie. Very street smart... paling aku tak dapat lupa kan, pemilik CNI Distribution Centre Ampang. Bekas buruh binaan jer tuh ... tak pass pun Form 3 hahaha but bila dah pakai suit, drive CLK mana lah orang tau kan??? I memang takde niat nak jadi kaya ... just love to mix around with these positive people ...

So dalam kelompok manusia manakah kiter nie?

Mie's Note:
Yang pasti I harap I tergolong dalam golongan orang2 yang beriman... despite all the scandals huhuhu
